Personal information is collected by TPT at the time you sign up as a member, subscribe to our mailing list or send an email to [email protected].

TPT collects your name, email, phone number and address via encrypted webforms, and stores this personal information in a secure cloud-based database. The software we use is called Nationbuilder (https://nationbuilder.com/privacy_security). TPT collects email addresses in order to keep members, subscribers, and partners informed of our activities, and there is an option to opt-out of email communication on every webform. TPT collects mobile phone numbers in order to communicate safely on field trips, and to organise activities with our Partners. TPT collects addresses to better understand which geographical areas our members come from, and how far people travel for field trips. Only the TPT executive committee members have access to the Nationbuilder database.

On field trips, TPT collects name and phone numbers of emergency contacts on a paper form at the field trip site to comply with safety policy. These contact details are not stored in our Nationbuilder database.

When our partner organisations help us run field trips, they may ask volunteers to provide personal contact information and emergency contact information to comply with their own safety policies. Contact the organiser to find out about their privacy policy.

All members can update their information by logging into the Members Portal of the website. Subscribers can update their email address by contacting the TPT President. Anyone can unsubscribe from our mailing list using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter-style email.

Credit card details for membership payments are processed through a secure, encrypted online payment processor (Stripe). We do not store credit card details in our Nationbuilder database. Stripe is a global business. For information on how Stripe manages your information, including how data may be sent overseas, please see their privacy policy: https://stripe.com/en-au/privacy

TPT will not use any personal information collected for the purposes of direct marketing. TPT will not sell or provide personal information collected to any third party for use for any purposes.

Any member concerned about potential breaches of privacy laws should contact the TPT president ([email protected]) or other member of the TPT committee to advise of their concerns.
