Speakers:
Joe Quarmby (Senior Botanist, NRE) will be speaking about NRE's recent work with threatened flora and TPT.
Miguel de Salas (Senior Curator, Tasmanian Herbarium TMAG) will speak about why plant names change and how we use them.
Mark Wapstra (EcoTas) & Malcolm Wells will be presenting the new orchid app. TPT has supported the development of the app with a donation, and several TPT members have contributed to its success.
AGM proceedings:
The Threatened Plants Tasmania Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, 11 July at the Grange Meeting & Function Centre, in Campbell Town. This page is where you can register to attend online instead.
The AGM is a valuable opportunity for members to meet the Executive and General Committee, connect with fellow members, and help shape the future of TPT by getting involved.
All committee positions will be declared vacant, and nominations are now open.
We will have 3 vacancies to fill from current committee members who are not in a position to re-nominate.
About the committee:
- We meet online four times per year plus the AGM, so it is not a huge time commitment.
- You do not need to be a botanist! That is a common misconception. We need people with all sorts of skills or simply the willingness to learn - volunteer organising, health & safety, website & comms software skills, and NFP governance knowledge.
